Take Her Back

I've found out I have this weird obsession with dresses. Literally, I think I may be addicted. But when spring time comes around, something simple and easy and flowy and girly like a dress is just perfect: it allows you to feel feminine yet not stuffy. This one below is from Zara, and loose skirt is what attracted me to it. It is like wearing a night gown: insanely comfortable.

I'm going through an alternative rock phase: The Pigeon Detectives being one of my new finds. Their song "Take Her Back" has been on replay since I got it... 2 weeks ago. But being on vacation (yay for easter!), it has let me find new music. Any good bands I need to know? I've also added a lot of Scouting For Girls and Parachute. :) Extremely good bands.

Have a great week! :D

Float On

Black and grey are starting to really bore me now. I just wonder: why is it that when it gets cold, people resort to darker colors? Now let me clarify: I still wear black and grey - all the time - yet, every now and then, it's time to spice it up, and hope that soon summer will be here. Cause let's be frank, I cannot wait for the sun. Not even warmth, I just want to see the sun.

bdg sweater, belt from macys.com, eloise dress

School starts up again tomorrow, followed by 3 days of gorgeous, wonderful, totally epic, i-cannot-wait-i-may-pee-my-pants ski camp. I'm completely excited and I cannot wait to finally see my friends again after 3 long hard weeks of well... not seeing them.

Float On by Modest Mouse is such an inspirational song. Seriously, I just love it.
"Well I backed into a cop car the other day, well he just drove on sometimes life okay..."

and sorry if your country won't allow you watch it. Trust me, I understand. It's a pain.

Sugar Bowl!

one revolution skirt (gift), h&m tank top, jcrew sweater

I know, I know that my last post title was also about a football bowl game, BUT seeing as there is a lot of football being played, it is slightly inevitable to not name the post after one. The Sugar Bowl is extra important to my family since the University of Arkansas is playing, and we used to live in Arkansas. WOOO PIG SOOIE!!!!

On a separate note, my sister gifted me with this skirt for christmas. I just absolutely love it. One catch: the skirt does not have a hook and eye closure at the top of the zipper, therefore the zipper has a tendency to no stay up. But no worries, I will fix that once I return to Switzerland.

Hope you all had a fantastic Tuesday! :)

Rose Bowl

For my sister... We shall call her L
one clothing dress, tights from urban outfitters, gap doloman (gift), jcrew cardigan, forever 21 necklace (gift)

This dress is just gorgeous. I bought it using a gift card for Macy.com, and usually (knowing me) I have horrible luck with online shopping: I find things that look gorgeous, pick out 3 or 4 things, order them, and then they just look atrocious! But I guess my luck has changed because this dress is just adorable. Paired with statement jewelry or a large belt, it shines. The grey color allows a pop of a bright hue to not seem overwhelming (shown above with the yellow tights).

It's -12(f) wind chill outside. Let's just say, there is a lot of American College Football being watched.

Frosty the Snowman

zara dress, gap sweater

There are only three occasions in my life where I feel like I have the right to dress up: My Birthday, Christmas and New Year's Eve. This lovely gold Zara dress has carried me through two of the three this year, and is probably the nicest dress I own. The fit is just immaculate (not to mention pockets are always a plus) and for how shiny and sparkly it is, it can be very versatile (on my birthday I wore this dress with red heels. 'Twas awesome).

The sweater was a gift from my sister for my birthday. I. LOVE. IT. Something about the oversized bagginess is so comfortable and warm (though most oversized baggy things are). Furthermore, it's in a neutral color, so though the cut of the sweater is rather trendy, I will still be able to wear it in the years to come and it won't go out of style. For my makeup, I used a cool makeup kit I got from my best friend for my birthday. Her Name Was Glowla has all the eyeshadow colors needed to make a great smokey eye that isn't over dramatic. It gives step by step instructions, which were really useful, cause I never knew in which order I should put the eyeshadow on. It also came with blush, brightener (which is most definitely my favorite makeup item in the kit), lip gloss and mascara. I can assure you that you will be seeing much more of Glowla.

TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS. let's just say... YES?!?!?!

Olha Que Coisa Mais Linda

http://elleandco.blogspot.com/
A gorgeous inspiration blog that I follow myself. I absolutely love it. It is in french, but it features many great advertisements, editorials and celebrity shots. Fabulous :)

limelight shoes, j crew dress, american eagle shirt

My inner girly girl has been going crazy as of late, and with my birthday drawing near, school drawing to a close and christmas around the corner - it hasn't been getting much attention.  But my knack (GAH. Haven't used that word in a while) for innovation is coming back, seen above as I have folded up one of my favorite shirts and wore is over a dress. It beats buying a new skirt by, oh, i don't know, NINE THOUSAND HUNDRED GAZILLION miles (but that's just a guesstemation).

So much going on, but I'm still thankful every day for you guys. If you have any suggestions for the blog, don't be afraid to tell me. I love hearing what you think!

P.S. Estou tendo um momento revival português. :P

Weihnachtsmesse

Some quick photos from the Weihnachtsmesse (pronounced Vihn-octs-mess-uh. Gah. German) which my mom and I went to in town. It is just absolutely adorable, slightly like a maze with hut after hut of ornaments, gloves, trinkets: any nicknack you could need.

Put my blogger into Portuguese today. I'm surprised about how much of the language I actually remember. Hopefully it will help me learn some of it again. Kind of the concept I used when I put my phone into french, other then after 2 weeks of that, I had to switch it back as I had NO IDEA what it was telling me to do. But it was a nice attempt any which way. :)

Every time We Touch

These photos were taken in front of my "famous" (and by famous, I mean my 5 best friends think it's pretty cool) wall of models. I've been working on it since I've moved here, and I'm about half way through the wall.

Update on the 5.5K I ran yesterday: I ran it in 37 mins! I'm very proud of myself! It was freezing and snowing but my sisters and I pushed though.
Have an amazing sunday. :)
Don't forget to comment on my post goodies goodies goodies. with your favorite ASOS piece to be featured in a post coming soon!

P.S. The best version of Every time We Touch by Cascada is this slow one. I can listen to it for hours and hours. Absolutely amazing.

The Princess and the Pea

It's a beautiful day here in der Schweiz. Seriously, this is the first time it HASN'T been raining for maybe... a week? Its nice to finally have some sunshine. :)

This is actually my sister jacket. I am just in love with the shape and the large buttons on the front. It almost has a childish element, with the velveteen collar.

bb dakota jacket, random tights found in the abyss that is my closet.

The 5.5k is drawing closer, and I am legitly freaking out. I definitely need to kick my training into high gear.

I have been obsessed with jean shirts lately. Anyone know where they sell cute yet cheap ones? I may want to try out this trend. :)

have a FANTABULOUS weekend! :)

Suddenly the World is such a Perfect Place

So... How many of you like my skirt?
That skirt right there is 6 hours of love and care, and I'm so glad I finished it! It's all hand sewn without a pattern, which was difficult but it paid off!

skirt by me, forever 21 shirt and cardigan

It was nice and hot today, a first time ever in Switzerland! It was super sunny and nice, but unfortunately I could only take these pictures at 530, so the sun was all gone and it was beginning to get dark. I love how summery it is here right now though, compared to yesterday, where it was super cold and raining!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Oui, Je suis tres contente au'jourd'hui!

arezzo wedges, camieu shirt, urban outfitter shorts

Here is some food for thought:
Have you ever sat down and just wondered how the world got to the way it is today? I don't know, maybe I'm just having one of those deep revelations that the world works in wondrous ways that no one can explain, or maybe I'm having a kind of... epiphany. That everything works out the way its supposed to, that everything is the way the gears of the world were programed to run.

Gosh that is the deepest thing I've thought about in a while. :P

Anyway, I've been digging (oh gosh, revival of a word) putting tights with some things I would wear over the summer (like shorts!). Of course, aren't those the use of tights? Cause then in that case, I've been using them correctly!

Have a wonderful week! :)
